Susie Barber

The person behind
the conversations.

Susie Barber is a New Zealand author whose work explores justice, dignity, trust and respectful communication. She is a member of the New Zealand Society of Authors and the author of Death Row, Silenced No More: Unveiling the Taboo of Childhood Sexual Abuse and Rebuilding Trust, and Modern Manners: Navigating in the Digital Age for Gen Z.

In 1995, Susie established the Susie B Finishing School of Etiquette Education. Her teaching brings together professional conduct, social intelligence, executive presence and the practical importance of consideration for others. Her work has taken her across New Zealand and international settings.

Her professional background also includes nursing and funeral service. Those experiences inform her attention to the people behind public questions, and to the responsibilities that accompany care, leadership and trust.

As Ambassador for The Louise Nicholas Trust, she supports awareness and conversations about the dignity of survivors. She is also listed as a speaker on the International Women’s Day platform.

Susie’s writing, teaching and advocacy are connected by a belief that humanity belongs at the centre of our institutions, our relationships and our everyday decisions.
